WELCOME TO THE PRACTICE

The practice covers the PO12 postcode area of Gosport and the surgery is located on Mumby Road, close to the redevelopment areas at Clarence Yard and St George's Barracks. There is a bus route stopping right outside the surgery. Service number 29 operates in a circle from Gosport Ferry, Royal Clarence Yard, and Alverstoke. Service 30 goes in the opposite direction.

The surgery is a two-storey development with reserved car parking spaces for the disabled and ramps for wheelchair access at the front entrance. If the car park is full, alternative parking is available free of charge at Cooperage Green, off Weevil Road, a short walk away. Most patient services are provided on the ground floor; however, a lift and stairs provide access to the first floor consulting rooms. Disabled toilets are located at both the ground and first floor levels.

The building and grounds are non-smoking areas. Failure to comply with this rule may lead to the authorities being informed. The practice is happy to support any patient who wishes to stop smoking.

Currently, the practice has an open list. In order to maintain our services, any patient moving to or within the PO13 address area will be asked to re-register with a practice nearer to their home.

We are a training practice for both newly qualified doctors and student nurses and there will be occasions when one may accompany a doctor or nurse during your consultation. More details below.

We aim to provide a complete and efficient service preventing illness as well as caring for you when you are ill. This website will help you obtain the best from the services that we offer.

We are a computerised practice and would be grateful for your help in making sure our records are accurate. Therefore please inform us of any changes in your registration details such as change of name, address, telephone number, and if you are a carer or being cared for.

This website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer. Please read it carefully. We trust that you will find it helpful and informative.

Surgery Hours

We are open for surgery Monday to Friday between 8.00am - 2.00pm and 3.00 - 6.30pm.

We are closed between 2.00 - 3.00pm daily for staff training and to allow us time to update our records. Should you need urgent treatment during this hour, please telephone the surgery and you will be connected to the duty doctor.

Training

We are an approved training practice for newly qualified (Foundation) doctors and medical and nurse students. The medical students tend to be with us for a few weeks and work closely with our GPs, often observing or assisting during consultations. Second and third year student nurses tend to be with us for periods of six to eight weeks and they will be observing or assisting with Practice Nurse consultations and eventually running their own clinics and Practice Nurse consultations. The Foundation Year Doctors can have their own clinics but work under the supervision of the partners.
