We offer a family planning service; make an appointment with any of the doctors or nurses. Please note that we do not fit coils or implants.
Well Baby
Clinics
Well baby clinics are no longer run at the surgery but held at various locations around the area. Please contact the Child and Family Helath Central Team on 023 9250 4991 or 023 9258 5928 to find the most suitable clinic for you.
Child
Immunisation Clinics
These are held every week on a Thursday. Invitations are sent out but if you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know and we will be happy to re-arrange it for you. Please do not attend without an appointment as we may not be able to accommodate you.
The current recommended schedule is:

Health Care
The practice nurses
can provide well woman services, cervical screening, lifestyle advice and general
health assessment. Please ask at reception for an appointment.
Male
Health Care
Health checks including
life-style advice are available with the nurses. Please book an appointment at
reception.
New
Patient Health Care
We like every new patient
from five years of age and over to have a general health check on joining the
practice. This would routinely involve height, weight and a urine test with a
blood pressure check for adults. Please make an appointment at reception.
Minor
Operations
We hold regular minor
operation sessions. If you require treatment please see your doctor.
Adult
Immunisation/Travel Clinic
The practice nurses would be happy to review your immunisation status. Certain vaccinations are chargeable - please ask at the time of booking.
Hepatitis B vaccination for occupational reasons is no longer provided by the practice.
Influenza
and Pneumonia Vaccine
In accordance with Department of Health guidelines, we recommend an influenza plus pneumonia vaccination for patients over 65 years or those with diabetes, chronic heart, lung or kidney disease and residents of nursing and rest homes. The Influenza vaccination is available from October onwards. The pneumonia vaccine may be given throughout the year. Please book your appointment in person or by telephone.
MASTA TRAVEL CLINIC
We are a registered MASTA travel centre providing a complete travel service, including advice, immunisation and products for both our patients and non registered clients. Allow adequate time in order for vaccine(s) to be effective. Certain travel vaccinations are chargeable - please ask at the time of booking.

On your return if you fall ill, don't forget to tell your doctor that you have travelled abroad.
If you have received treatment abroad, tell your own doctor on return. When donating
blood, tell the transfusion staff which countries you have visited.
Phlebotomy
We hold daily phlebotomy clinics at the surgery run by Portsmouth Hospitals Trust. These are for patients of Waterside Medical Centre and Stoke Road Surgery. It is an appointment only service. Appointments may be booked by telephone on 023 9258 3344 or in person. Appointment times are:-

Help and advice is available for those wishing to lose weight. Please book your appointment in person or by telephone.
Diabetes and Coronary Heart Disease
Patients with diabetes
and/or Coronary heart disease are invited for regular reviews with the doctors and/or the nurse specialists and may contact the surgery at any time for advice.
Respiratory
Management
Respiratory Specialist Nurse Gail Rimmington runs a weekly clinic. Practice nurses are also available for review and advice. Please book your appointment in person or by telephone.
Smoke
Stop
Help and advice is available for those wishing to give up smoking. Please book an appointment at reception. Alternatively, contact the ‘quit4life’ team on 0845 602 4663 or www.quit4life.nhs.uk.
